Everton Cup Preview
Sheffield Wednesday WFC this weekend begin there 2009/2010 League Cup campaign against Premier League side Everton. The Owls are full of confidence after last Sundays victory over Curzon Ashton, and will be looking to cause the upset of the round when they take on Mo Marleys side this Sunday at Worksop Town FC (2.00pm kick off).

With this being the first weekend of fixtures after Thursday's Euro 2009 Final in Finland, in which every member of both teams will be hoping for an England victory, this game promises to be a crowd puller as Womens football is once again in the public eye, following Englands involment in the Final, so it is advisible to arrive early for the game.

Wednesday are likely to be without in form midfielder Rachel "Shorty" Lee for the game following an injury at Lincoln last Wednesday. Striker Tanya Rich will also be missing from the squad but in-form striker Rachel Skeemer will be availible after picking up a calf injury in last Sundays victory over Curzon Ashton.

Assistant Manager Liam Kelly; "Sunday promises to be a fantastic advert for the Womens game. This is what cup football is all about; Everton, one of the best teams in the country, and for me, I feel they'll will justtip Arsenal to winning the Premier League; And Sheffield Wednesday, young, vibrant, ambitious, focussed and now developing that winning mentality, going out to prove we can mix it with the big guns. No one outside of our dressing room will think we can win, but I prefer that underdog situation. All the pressure is on Everton, but we are certainly not here to make up the numbers, we will go out with our systems, philosophys and pride and passion and do the name of Sheffield Wednesday proud. And if our players believe in themselves, play with the pride that they have, and show just the right ammount of respect, but not to much, to Everton, then anything is possible in this wonderful world of football."
