Owls say thank you
After today’s Premier League Cup first round tie at Worksop town Sheffield Wednesday Womens F.C. would like to say thank you and compliment Mo Marley, her coaching staff and Everton Ladies players and the club as a whole on their professionalism and approach into today’s game.

A large number of their players, and Mo herself only returned from Euro 2009 in Finland very early Saturday morning, and after great success with England, The Everton Management showed great respect to the Owls, the competition and football in general by fielding their strongest side for this match, which was played in great spirit with high quality throughout and was a great advert for the game.

Assistant Manager Liam Kelly "Football sometimes takes some stick, but today Everton Football Club showed great mentality and professionalism.

This was echoed throughout the game, great respect was shown to our players throughout the match and this was taken off the pitch after the game when the Everton players made themselves available for autographs and pictures with the awaiting young fans coming to watch there heroes. And nothing was to much trouble. A special mention must go to goalkeeper Rachel Brown who was still on the pitch talking 25 mins after the final whistle. The management and players also stayed for up to an our in the players lounge, and we hear about all the negative press in football, but the positives like this, we feel should also be made public. I hope Mo knows of how well see as created a great playing team, but also a team of good people. We has a club are aiming to reach the Premier League, and sometimes success can bring jealousy, but if we can use the example set by Everton into how to conduct yourself as a club, we will not go far run in keeping the name of Sheffield Wednesday Womens F.C. in good light. May i also take this opportunity to thank our own players, me and Dan (Manager) spoke after the game and we are proud of each and every one of them, they showed today why they are a joy to work with and they did us all proud with their performance".
