Sheffield Wednesday Women’s FC have been busy over the last few days with the addition of 2 new players with Manager Adam Smallman promising a couple more additions in the next few days.
The first signing is Gemma Hopkin. Gemma is a prolific goalscorer over the last 4 seasons with Grimsby Town and before that OOH Lincoln.
The 2nd player to sign is Shelly James. Shelly joins from Curzon Ashton where she was prolific in the Northern Premier League and before that with Liverpool FC
Manager Smallman commented “After a lot of hard work we have finally got 2 players we have been interested in for a number of weeks. The ladies we have signed will add quality and strength in depth to an already talented side. To bring players with this quality in only shows how serious we are as a club. We need to start taking the numerous chances we create in games and quickly if we are to get out of the position we are in and start challenging again, I believe with the added quality we have bought in it can only assist us in that department and help assist the development of our younger players.”
