Manager Andy Burgess has been busy this week securing 3 top signings for the Owls.
Burgess who has been in the job for 2 months has made some serious signings and the 3 ladies he has bought in are no exception. All 3 hail from the North West and will add some serious ammunition to his already talented squad.
The first signing is former premiership player Chantelle Parry. Parry has played for Liverpool, Everton and Blackburn. She won promotion with Liverpool and she would be a massive signing for any club in this division.
The second signing is Louise Worrall. A lively striker formerly of Everton has great pace and is a natural goal scorer, and finally Emma Koo once again from Everton is a no nonsense midfielder who will add knowledge and experience to the Owls side.
Burgess commented “ To be able to sign these 3 players in a week is a great achievement. All 3 of them will add something different to the side. We are in a relegation battle and with these girls being added to the squad it will give me a selection nightmare, but that can only be a good thing. There will be some girls that will be disappointed when selection is made, but my main priority is to keep this team in the league so I have to be tough in my decisions. We have to start winning games and I believe with the squad that we have assembled there is no reason why we cannot start this week”
Chairman Jeff Maslin remarked, “ When I appointed Andy I knew he would be able to attract some quality players, this has been shown with the signings he has already made. His brief was to keep us in this league and to build a squad that would get us promoted within 3 seasons. I see no reason why this will not happen”
All 3 players are eligible for selection in this week’s 3rd Round FA Cup tie with Stockport County on Sunday. Kick off 2pm at Worksop Town. |
