Owls Sign 2 Players and Welcome Back De Silva
Sheffield Wednesday Women's F.C. have over the last 2 weeks confirmed the signings of Katie Nutter from Leeds Carnegie Ladies and Kerry Smith from OOH Lincoln.

Nutter, 19 joined the Owls last week and made her debut in yesterday's 2-1 victory over Preston North End whilst coming on as a second half substitute. The central midfield star will be hoping to make an immediate impact as Wednesday continue their current campaign with 3 victories in all competitions since the turn of the year.

Joining Katie is left winger Kerry Smith, who signed just after Christmas from OOH Lincoln. Kerry who has played at this level for over 3 years is a very accomplished player. She has worked hard over the last few years after a career threatening injury to become an even stronger player.

Wednesday also welcomed back Leanne De Silva from a long term injury, coincidentally picked up from a tackle at OOH Lincoln. Along with the recalling of Laura Windle and Helen Corry from 'loan' spells at Sheffield FC and Sheffield United respectively The Owls are virtually back to full strength with no long term absentees.

Manager Liam Kelly now feels the final pieces of the 'group' are coming together "In Katie we have signed someone who has had a great education at Leeds, progressed well and is now ready to make that transition into Northern Premier Football. Dynamic, box to box, and to her credit great technical ability sums up Katie and as she adapts to a new tempo these attributes will come out even greater. Kerry Smith was someone who was here already on my arrival, albeit not played a competitive game, but in the first 15 minutes of my first game, she was just what I needed to see, positive, skilful, attacking minded, but not afraid to put a shift in defensively. Fantastic movement patterns, and more importantly, complements our system better than any left winger I know."

"In Corry and Windle, these are two players I remember from my time here earlier in the season, Windle great pace, always smiling and a blue and white heart though and through. With more game time and development she will be a good player for us. And the same goes for Corry, great first touch, body movements all there, wants to learn, great mentality and these are the type of players we need. And looking at the group list now, it's full of quality and desire, and more than likely this will be the group to take us to the end of the season, which goes to show the confidence we have in everyone one of them"
